Words of the Producer:
Spinning videos, such as our 2 hour video, “Working with Wool, Spinning”, have helped many spinners to perfect their craft. Qualities of the different wools and breeds of sheep are included in this wool spinning video. It then follows through the process of washing, dyeing, drying, picking, carding, and then finally spinning.
When I initially considered producing a wool spinning video I could only think of working with our wonderful and unique friend, Delia Burge. Delia has been involved with wool and spinning for many decades. She has made a worthwhile business out of her interest in spinning and processing her wool and was kind enough to share her interest with me in this video.
Delia has also concentrated on the marketing side of her wool, and as such is an active member of the Water Street Studio in Pictou, Nova Scotia, a co-operatively owned craft store, where she markets her wares.
The program is well laid out, easily explained, simple to follow and should be of great help for anyone starting out with the this craft.
